Elaine (Smith) Davis

Elaine (Smith) Davis, resident of Charleston, W.V., passed away peacefully on January 11th, 2026, at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, W.V. surrounded by the love of her family.

Elaine was born on May 24th, 1958, in Woodman, Kentucky, the loving daughter of the late Harold & Mable (Carter) Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her husband, Wilson Davis, infant brother, Harold Gene Smith, one sister, Beatrice Sue Hensley, and her niece, Teresa Carol Hensley.

Elaine was a retired registered nurse from South Williamson ARH and of the Christian faith.  She was a phenomenal mother and took great pride in raising her children.  Elaine was generous, kind and full of love.  She enjoyed the company of her little dog Harley that belonged to her late husband.    

Those surviving to honor the legacy of Elaine’s memory include her daughter, Heather (Marissa) Davis; son, Derek (Sarah) Davis both of Charleston, W.V.; brothers, Benny (Trish) Smith of Stopover, KY, Kenneth (Lois) Smith of Stopover, KY, Ronald (Elenor) Smith of Majestic, KY, and Gary Smith of Majestic, KY; sisters, Danford Hurley of Woodman, KY, Wanda Hensley of Majestic, KY, Lillian (Johnny) Dotson of Majestic, KY and Beulah Hensley of Woodman, KY.  Elaine leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  She had a special niece, Tammy Compton, who she loved like a sister.

Elaine was the adored step-grandmother of McKenna Lusk, Ethan Lusk, Jaydin Ball, Keagan Ball and Isabella Ball.

Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:00 on Wednesday before the funeral services.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at the Woodman Community Church with Pastor Odis Blankenship officiating the service. 

Burial will conclude at the Smith Family Cemetery at Stopover, Kentucky.
